Text (this is an H2)

Text: Paragraph, the following are all native WordPress blocks that can be found under the Text block category. These are the most basic blocks that help make up a WordPress Block Editor page. New blocks default to a Paragraph.

Text: Stretchy Heading

Text: Stretchy Paragraph, a variant to the paragraph block.

Text: Heading (this is an H3)

Headings, from H1s to H6s, contribute to the content hierarchy of the page. A WordPress Page Title is automatically applied as an H1. Organizing a page’s content will start at the H2 level and is nested, as needed. Meaning headings require an appropriate and preceding level, e.g. an H4 cannot exist without a corresponding H3.

Text: Quote, a paragraph variant block.

Text: Code, similar to the Text: Quote, this is a paragraph variant that comes pre-formatted with the Courier typeface.

This is a hidden block within Text: Details. It functions similarly to an accordion, but there is no inherent heading level.

This is the citation/source

Text: Table

While other Text blocks are offered (Math, Preformatted, Verse, and Classic) their use cases are very limited.

Illinois Theme

Illinois Theme: Accordion

Illinois Theme: Accordion is a flexible system for collapsible content. It defaults to three (3) Panels but can be added to, as needed. Heading levels are set per panel, from H2 to H6. Panels can include other blocks beyond basic Text blocks.

The Illinois Theme: Call To Action can help highlight and invite an action. Both the Icon and block styles (relevant to Color Theme) can be configured separately.

Illinois Theme: Card

Illinois Theme: Card is a simple and visual ways to organize content. While they have imitations as to what can be included within them, they can very easily be leveraged in various Design layout blocks.

Design: Buttons acts only as a container for Illinois Theme: Button.

There is no one component, but rather a series which support the creation of more complex page structures, allowing arrangement and grouping of multiple blocks.

Design: Separator & Spacer

Design: Separator and Design: Spacer do what you would assume and provide ways to help divide and better separate sections or elements of a page. Examples of both are used throughout this page, preceding each block category/section. Directly below this Text: Paragraph is a 100px Design: Spacer followed by a wide-line Design: Separator.

Media: Image

Native WordPress block for images. Size and alignment can be specified to support in-line integration.

Native WordPress block and non-branded variant of Illinois Theme: Image Feature.

Media: Video

Native WordPress video block. The only functional difference between this and Illinois Theme: Video Feature or Embed: YouTube Embed is the option to reference video files uploaded directly to the site.

Embed: YouTube Embed

Lightweight option to the Illinois Theme: Video Feature which functions the same as Media: Video. Embed: YouTube Embed is the only Embed category block that we would realistically use. Only allows YouTube URLs.
